Teri Slade

As a Licensed Body Mapping Educator, Teri Slade uses Body Mapping to help musicians prevent injury and promote facility. The training of movement, senses, and attention are essential components of her music and somatic pedagogy. As a researcher at the Piano Pedagogy Research Laboratory at University of Ottawa, Teri investigates measurable evidence of change in music performance following the study of somatic methods such as Body Mapping. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada, Teri now resides in the country’s capital region, Ottawa, Ontario, collaborating with music ensembles as a pianist and vocalist, and is an avid dancer of Argentine Tango.
