Ruth Kasckow

Ruth Kasckow is a flutist and flute teacher working in the Los Angeles area. She teaches privately out of her home studio in the Pasadena area. She enjoys performing with chamber music groups and giving solo recitals, as well as freelancing with local orchestras.

Ruth is also involved with Suzuki Flute as a member of the Pasadena Suzuki Music Group. She has released two CDs: French Impressions for Flute and German Expressions for Flute. She has published two flute duet method books: The Flute Duet Practice Book--Book 1 and The Flute Duet Practice Book--Book 2, as well as a flute quartet, Chinese Folk Song Suite.

Ruth is dedicated to promoting a healthy approach to music performance through teaching body mapping. Her easy- going manner and straightforward presentation of body mapping concepts encourages students to explore their movement and make changes for free, expressive, and pain-free playing. Her workshops and individual lessons are tailored for the specific needs of professional musicians, music educators and music students.
