Jerald Harscher

For 15 years, guitarist Jerald Harscher has been a pioneer of Somatics-Based Music Training for performance excellence. He has a history of helping musicians and non-musicians succeed in recovering from use-related pain and injury (including Focal Dystonia). As an artist and educator, Jerald informs and inspires using the power of example where free and fluid qualities of movement-conscious music-making are valued over confused or disembodied conventional approaches that too often result in pain, injury and a progressive loss of ability.

Jerald has presented to professionals, students and faculty at several major institutions including Hart School of Music, Yale University School of Music, New York Classical Guitar Society, Boston Classical Guitar Society, Berklee College of Music, Boston GuitarFest, New England Conservatory, and as a panelist and guest clinician for the Longy School of Music Mind-Body Program.
