Flutist Angela Kelly is an international prizewinner, accomplished soloist, and orchestral player with an extensive list of credits. She was a Bach Aria Fellow and has performed in solo recitals, as well as with orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the country. Her recordings include “Conversations: The Music of Gary Schocker” on the Azica label, and “The Holly and the Ivy”, a collaboration with world-renowned Chapman Stick player Greg Howard. She has served on the performance faculty of The University of Virginia and Mary Baldwin College, and has been a performer and clinician at numerous national and international conferences including the National Flute Association and the World Harp Congress. Kelly is an award-winning educator who runs the music program at Charlottesville Day School and heads a private studio including more than 30 students in Charlottesville.
A newly licensed Body Mapping Educator, Angela Kelly has had experience teaching Body Mapping workshops at James Madison University and most recently, at the University of Virginia’s 2020 Flute Forum. She has also served as a guest clinician in schools throughout Virginia.
Finding balanced, efficient, graceful movements in practice and performing has become a passion for Angela. She shares her love and work of Body Mapping musicians of all ages, who range in age from 8 to 85.
